Here are the Diary details for 2010 15th May - Gaynor Gent and I organised an Eye Testing Session for Eye Specialist vet John Goodyear who tested 40 dogs, who all passed, including Jimmy Choo, his two sisters, Jezebel, Wren, Thierry and Briar. We will hold this session annually so please contact us for next May. 1st/2nd May - Another Brilliant Weekend. Briar won a fourth in the Berkshire Downs and Chilterns GRC Novice Working tests on the Saturday (Judges: Lady Venetia Hugh-Smith, Mary Jane Opie, Sue Berman and Rosemary Ryder) and Wren was awarded a 3rd in Post Graduate Bitch at GRC of Northumbria Championship Show on the Sunday by Isabel Cuthill (Mousseglen). Plenty of travelling but worth it. Also Briar and I have been pleased to have been invited to join the GRC Interclub Working Test team which will be held on 27th June at Holway in Dorset. Better get training hard!!!! 25th April - at the GRC Working Tests at Tortworth, Glos, Briar was awarded a Fourth place in Novice which was her first Novice test place!!! Very pleased. Thanks to the wonderful judges Mr Nick Coates, Mr Danny Burgess, Mrs Jill Gardener and Mr Alan Kennard and the helpers who made it a brilliant day for me. The biggest thanks to Gaynor Gent who keeps us on track with our training and also gives me the confidence to believe!!! 24th April - Monty, Poppy, Looby Lou, Buddy and Honey went to their new homes and we wish their new owners lots of fun. 23rd April - WELKS Championship show - Wren won a lovely Post Graduate Bitch class, thanks to Penny Beauchamp (Bolberry) 18th April - Briar and I went to the URC training day with Ricky Malone - he thought she'd done an excellent job of training me and with a bit more work I may even win an award!!!! 14th April - Jimmy Choo was awarded 4th in Puppy and Wren won post graduate bitch and her first Best of Breed thanks to Hilary Male (Malenbrook) at Windsor Gundog Premier show. . 10th April - Jimmy Choo went north and over the border into Scotland. Before leaving England he and his mum had a paddle in the sea. See the video on his album page. He was awarded a Reserve in Minor Puppy by Gordon Mackenzie and Wren was awarded a VHC by Fiona Thurm. Thanks to both judges for a lovely day. 5th April - Briar came with us to Kelmarsh Game Fair and enjoyed trying out the tests. She was excellent at jumping the bales but tried to get both dummies in her mouth at once!! 4th April - Briar went to Dove Valley Working Gundog Club's Novice test where she completed six tests but did not want to cross the water for a blind. More work to do there!!! 21st March - Jimmy Choo went South West to the South West Golden Retriever Championship Show where he was awarded a VHC by Fiona Brightley (Drumkilty) and we both thoroughly enjoyed our day thanks to Fiona. 14th March - CRUFTS - Dave let me show Wren again and we were awarded a VHC by Marlene Sillence to whom we send thanks. Angie and I covered the Gundog Day for Our Dogs newspaper and interviewed the main winners in the gundog group including Moray Armstrong who's wife co-owns Yogi who went on to win Crufts Best In Show. Great day for all - even with the streaker!!! 4th March - Ellie gave birth to her puppies and we have three males and four females. All doing well. 1st March - Pebbles gave birth to her puppies and we have two females and a male doing well. 27th February - Jimmy Choo again behaved really well but was unplaced. He struggles to keep still - when his tail wags so does his body!!! He never stops wagging - there's the problem!!! 21st February- Jimmy Choo was placed 3rd in Puppy at the URC Open Show under Judge Di Ewings (Bryanstown) 20th February - Jimmy Choo goes west - to the Golden Retriever Club of Wales Championship Show where he was awarded 4th in Minor Puppy, VHC in Puppy, 3rd in Maiden and Novice. He was not placed but seemed to enjoy his day, especially the sausages. 7th February - Jimmy Choo was awarded another 3rd at Wellingborough Open Show and Dave, Fran and Dan came along to watch him with his sister and Jezebel. He again behaved very well and seems to be able to take it all in his stride. 6th February - Jimmy Choo went to his first show and was awarded a third in Puppy, The two pups who beat him were a lot older than him. 3rd February - Ellie and Pebbles were scanned and confirmed in whelp. 27th January - The SGWC hosted by The Golden Retriever Club and the Labrador Club was held and Dave succeeded in gaining the Show Gundog Working Certificate with Wren. Well done to them both.
